RE: The boys Firebird again

Like most racers he was most likely going to refresh the engine in the off season anyway. Now he has to.:)

RE: Duggars and their 18 kids

I just wish someone had decided to do a bunch of TV specials about my wife and I and our 6 kids so we could afford to buy a used hockey team bus with 15 beds and build a new 4000 square foot house. Their only claim to fame is breeding kid after kid! Must be nice to become famous and make moocho dinero just because you like to be pregnant.

RE: Gout

Let's see here...one says acidy food is goood...
Google "Gout and Apple Cider Vinegar" for lots of info.
Gout and Apple Cider Vinegar will tell you that the acid in ACV actually turns the blood to more alkaline.
Edit: I am speaking from experience, I have an arthritic knee that responds overnight to a shot of ACV. I do not have Gout, but Gout is a form of arthritis.
And one says it's to be avoided...
I have a friend with Gout as well. He was advised to avoid high acid foods (IE: Tomatoes) and as others have said, there is medication.. Gout is often an annoyance however it can become serious if ignored.. So SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP. In other words.. SEE A DOCTOR. I suspect a doctor in General Practice may be thebest one on this, at least for the first visit.
Who do you believe? I think maybe your best all along would have been to see a doctor because this is "obviously" not the site for medical advice.

RE: Switch it up,,,good exp. with Chinese Tires

The tires on my alpenlite are chinese made. Next summer will be their third year of use with no problems. I never exceed 55 MPH and keep my pressures dead on. My genset is chinese made too. Works extremely well and the price couldn't be beat. And my dometic works great too...let's see..oh!...I've never stayed in a walmart parking lot but I have stayed at a camping world lot once.

RE: Forums will be down Saturday AM

Thanks for the heads up I guess. When I owned a forum site we always did our maintenance on Sunday night/monday mornings and not friday/saturdays. Less people were hindered that way. But then we listened and responded to people when they asked questions and had problems as well. Guess this maintenance time is just one other thing I'd do differently.

RE: Oops! Bad for Leather!

Take it to a local upholstery shop or look into seat covers. I'd do both. Fix it at the repair shop and protect it with a slip cover

RE: Kin Pin Tripod?

My tripod stabilizer does a great job of stopping movement. I’ve tried setting up without the tripod, and the difference was very noticeable. When used together with my Rotochoks and rear stabilizers, my 5er is rock solid. Please note that for the tripod to work effectively, it must be set up according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Another plus is that it provides some security because the tripod cup locks to the kingpin with a padlock.
Ditto here. I wouldn't camp for more than one night with out it and rides in the bed of the truck between the wheel well and 5er hitch perfectly.

RE: Update News from IKE's missing??

I know there is good preparation, but there is no home standing to be at home (except one in one picture).
that was not all of Texas you saw on the news you know? I believe your talking about Galveston only actually. That's a very small part of Texas an d the missing is accounted from all over. I believe Galveston's population was only around 60000 maximum. Besides, If over 100,000 people were washed out to sea they would be washing up on beaches all over by now.

RE: You'll never guess what I saw !!

I too don't believe any laws were broken that would give law enforcement a reason to be involved and could even see a police officer getting upset for being called out to investigate someone putting waste into a hole which is what these guys were suppose to do and did. Yes they did it in a fashion that most of us wouldn't use or even agree with but that doesn't make the act illegal.

I was going to say that my dometic has a separate temperature knob and metal hinges as well. Maybe it's something they have recently started to save costs.

For the price of $119.95 each (and that's on sale) it would have to rock me to sleep before I'd buy it.

RE: What a waste of "MONEY"

"A penny saved is a penny earned" :W
I agree here. I can't believe you all are so rich that you can deem money (penny) worthless. I tell you what. I'll work for you. A full month straight without any days off. the first day you pay me 1 single penny. All I ask is that you double the days total every day. ie...the 1st day I get 1 cent. The 2nd day I get 2 cents. The 3 day I get 4 cents the 4th day I get 8 ceents... etc...lets see how petty that penny is at the end of the month. The total owed to me on day 30 or 31 alone would be $5,368,709.12 or $10,737,418.24 depending on a 30 or 31 day month. Add that to the other totals and you would be well over 22 million dollars for the 31 day month.
IMO pennies have the ability to "add" up.lol

RE: Emergency Roadside Assistance Nightmare

Why is it that everyone who has goodsam ERS blames Goodsam when a wrecker driver refuses to show up? It was the wrecker driver who chose to stop and work the accident scene. Not goodsam. Goodsam was most likely dealing with the wreckers dispatcher and not the actual wrecker driver as well so in all probability they probably weren't being given the entire story.
I've had GS for about 1.5 years and have had no problems with them in that time. I got my vehicle taken in when I needed it taken in.

RE: I am amazed ...what goes down won't go up !

When I leave the hose on the ground I like the end going up because when it gets windy the hose stays where I put it but most of the time I just dump and put it away
WOW! It must get super windy in Washington. I've never had wind strong enough to blow my hose around. Especially when both ends are anchored to something.

RE: Thanks Champion Generator posters

Glad you liked YOUR Champion generator. I bought one last year for the "just in case" weather which happened last week in Ohio. We were out of power 5 days. Started up the new generator and it ran the fridge for one tank of gas and then went crazy...reving to a zillion rpms and blew out the bulbs in the fridge and motor in the ice maker. I'll call their 1-800 # but I'll get the "it's not our fault" line. Piece of junk. Should have, and will, be buying a Yamaha or Honda soon.
You haven't even called their number yet but your sitting here telling us what type of answer you'll get. Can you tell me the lottery numbers for this week? After all, if your clairvoyant enough to know what others are going to say you would have to be clairvoyant enough to know the numbers. Right? You never know what answer you'll get until you open your mouth to ask a question rather than use it to put down the generator. If you haven't called their number already your making a mistake.
Doubt if it was a honda you would get better customer service or even a better response than what you expect from champion but champion is known for customer service. Like J stated. Complaints are few and far between. Matter of fact...I've seen more posts complaining about eu2000's gumming up and having probs than I have champion genset probs. I think I've seen maybe 10 posts ever about a champion genset problem of any kind yet there have been that many about eu2000's in the last 6 months.

RE: Long tavel in popup, need advice.

While we still have our PUP (we're not sure what to do with it) we haven't used it in the two years we've owned the 5er. Every time I mention using it to the DW she gets a funny look on her face and scrunches up her mouth and states that she's done with the tent trailer. Says the set up and break down killed her. Doesn't help that our pup is old and the roof is too heavy for a drill motor to raise and lower it. I even have a impact drill and it won't raise it yet it will screw a 3.5" deck screw all the way through a 4x4 redwood post.lol Plus we lost the original handle so I use a socket I cut grooves into with a socket ratchet to raise and lower it.
When I read the OP to her she laughed and said that they have no idea what they are getting into. I agree to a degree. While a pain in the butt it's possible to do and IMO the great memories of the trip will out shadow any grumbles about setting up and breaking down. If I were you, I'd do it, the DW wouldn't, but i would.lol
